APEX, NC - Quick Facts
Voted the states #1 small town, Apex, North Carolina is a growing vibrant town yet clings tightly to its proud heritage. Apex, NC was incorporated in 1873. Its name comes from the fact that is is the highest point on the Chatham Railroad.
A stroll down Main Street is a stroll though yesteryear. The pace of life slows as you walk by the revitalized old store fronts. Quench your thirst at the Salem Street Soda Shop, play checkers outside the general store. Peruse the antique shops, then meander over to the old Apex train Depot (now converted in to the Apex Chamber of commerce). Sit a spell under a shade tree and let the youngn’s explore the restored caboose.
Homes in Apex offer choices for all tastes. In town you’ll find historic 100 year old homes, rich in history. West of town, new construction abounds with many of the new neighborhoods borrowing styling cues from days gone by. Lot sizes are generally larger than neighboring Cary and the schools here some of the best in the county!
